We got our tax return yesterday. I feel weird talking to you, my blog, about money. However, I will say that Jon and I were pretty excited for a little financial boost. We're using most of it for student loans and savings, but there was a bit set aside for fun as well :)
...Still fantasizing about homeownership. I feel like I'm continually plotting ways to move to Portland, buy a house, and live happily ever after. And then I crash back down into the real world and remember things like the necessity of a job and a down-payment for a house.
I start classes next week, which is hard to wrap my mind around. Between work and school, I know I'm going to get progressively more exhausted until I eventually burn out and need to take a quarter off. But hopefully in the mean time I can knock out most of the foundation classes. I'm taking 6 credits this quarter and then 3 in the summer, and once the fall schedule is released I'll know how many credits I'll be taking then (hopefully 6). My plan is to do 6 credits every quarter fall-spring and then always take 3 in the summer. That way I'll still be able to take a vacation.
In preparation for the start of school I bought my books today. Thankfully they weren't nearly as painfully expensive as undergrad books were. Now I just need to figure out what to use for a backpack - I think I have a messenger bag stored away somewhere... Thinking about going back to school makes me want to watch Grease 2. Thank you Michelle Pheiffer.

Hhaha, Grease 2. What are you studying?
I'm getting my Masters of Education in Student Development Administration. Basically, I want to be an academic counselor :)
