This has been a big/long/tiring week and it's only halfway over!
I started my job at Seattle University on Monday. It's always exhausting starting a new job, learning names, policies, procedures, getting a handle on the office environment, etc. The last three days have been full of setting up voice mail, getting permission to access all the systems, cleaning out my new desk, throwing away lots of old and outdated manuals, getting new office supplies, meeting lots of people, and going to meetings! I've had pretty minimal training so far, but I feel like I'm at least starting to figure out what my job will be like.
There is such a diverse crowd of people that work in my office. Everyone is here for different reasons, they all come from such different backgrounds (both professionally and personally), and almost none of them did their undergrad at Seattle U. It's a very professional environment, which I like.
I know I'm going to crash Friday afternoon when I finish work. I wish I didn't have anything to do this weekend, I want to just relax and sleep and try and recover from this week. I know work will become much less exhausting once I settle in and get used to my job, but in the meantime, it is going to be really draining.
Welp, my lunch break is almost over. Back to worky work.
