Jon and I are going to see Cake tonight at the Moore.

Jon and I don't have a "song" per-say, but Cake is definitely our "band." This will be our 3rd time seeing them together. We danced to their version of Strangers in the Night for the first dance at our wedding.

This may or may not be the best New Years Eve ever.

We're also staying downtown at the Westin tonight. Hopefully our room isn't too high up. I don't like high buildings, they make me dizzy.

Anyways, I'm pretty pumped. I even bought a new dress :)

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate flying?

It's always the same. A few days before a big trip, I stop sleeping well. Then I get emotional, grumpy, and overwhelmed. I shut down and just want to be alone. I get irrational and worry about every last thing I might have not finished before I left. Then, the day of my trip, I am always physically ill. I usually get terrible stomach cramps, and I'm nauseous.

I leave Seattle in 8 hours. I have been sick all day. I have not packed. I'm exhausted. And to be honest, I'm just really mad at myself for booking such a crappy flight.

I'm already missing Jon.

I know as soon as I set foot in PA, I'll forget how miserable the journey there was. But in the meantime, I'm just going to wallow a little bit more.

I'll be back on Monday in time to see Jon's band, Owls to Athens, play their first gig at El Corazon!

Did I ever mention that my husband is in a band?

Their name is Owls to Athens and they are pretty awesome. They released an EP last April, and it's high time they start working on another album. Of course the thought of Jon going back in the studio is slightly hard for me to wrap my mind around. They recorded every single Saturday, all day and pretty much all night, for several months in order to get 7 tracks down. I can't imagine the amount of time that would go in to recording and producing an entire album!

So why I am mentioning them, you ask? Well, they don't have any gigs lined up right now, they're not working on a new album, and they aren't trying to find any new band members - but I've just been thinking lately about how talented the boys are... how much I love their music... how much of a rockstar my husband is... and I just wanted to share the love with my fellow bloggers. So, if you want to hear some of their music, check out their website Owls to Athens and you can link up to their myspace from there.

If you want a CD, let me know and I'll get you the hook up (I think they're $5).

And if you're a fan of their album art, the praise is due to Mr. Peter Orr, a wonderful and incredibly talented artist who so graciously designed their logos and album art for them. Thanks Peter, you're fantastic!
