Daylight Savings Time.

Why is everyone so excited about that "extra hour of sleep?" What daylight savings time REALLY means is that we are robbed of the last few minutes of daylight (ie: sanity) when we leave work in the afternoon! Sure, for a few more weeks it will be light out when I leave for work every morning. But what it also means is that it will now be dark every single evening from now until APRIL when I leave work.

The most depressing part of winter is showing up to and leaving work in the dark. Why can't I just have a few minutes of light when I get home in the evening? There will come a point when I can't remember what the true color of my couch is because I'll have gone 4 months only seeing it in artificial light.

I love a lot of things about fall and winter, but the lack of daylight is not one of them.

This is, flat out, my favorite time of year.

Amen sister! I was mourning the darkness yesterday when I came home from work to walk my dog - a task that had been quite pleasant just a few days prior, with the bright fall colors and crunchy/soggy leaves. Now it's just dark when I get home. Lame! I read something about daylight savings being invented by some silly man who wanted to be able to play golf in the mornings before work. Golf! Wow. Hope it was worth it.
