This fine fall weekend...

Two years ago for my 20th birthday, my brother, parents, and grandparents came and spent the weekend in Seattle. My grandparents had never visited me at school before, and I was so excited to share my new city with them. That weekend, at least the way I remember it, was practically perfect. The weather was beautiful, everyone got along well, and it was just really memorable.

Here is a picture of my parents from that weekend...

Don't they look so happy and festive?!

Tomorrow, the same crew + Uli the German exchange student will be coming up once again to celebrate my birthday. It's crazy to think about how much has changed since the last time they were up here two years ago. Two years ago I was a junior in college, living in a house full of girls, I hadn't gone to Australia yet, in fact, I didn't even know whether or not I had been accepted in to the program at that point. Jon and I weren't even engaged, just dating. I was a member at All Saints. I was still financially dependent on my parents. I was different. And now look at where my life is... I'm married. I have a college degree. I am working a real job with a salary and benefits. I have a place where my family can actually stay when they come to visit! It really doesn't seem like that long ago when they last came to visit, but looking back on all the events that occurred over the last two years reminds me how quickly things change.

I am so excited for tomorrow. It's not about my birthday, it's about family being together. I love being around my family and this weekend should be no exception.
