House Verdict

To fill everyone in on what happened with our house...

We ended up staying in the SPU guest house for a full week. Last Thursday, the housing office called to let us know that the guest house was booked for the upcoming week, meaning we had to find somewhere to stay starting Monday. They offered to put us up in a hotel for a few nights while we looked for a new place, which was nice, but with finals going on that last thing I wanted was to stay in a hotel.

So, Thursday afternoon Jon and I went out with the housing coordinator and we looked at all the available units on SPU's campus. The house directly next door to ours was empty, and hands down the nicest of all the units we looked at. So Friday we signed the lease and moved all of our stuff, with the help of some wonderful friends, into the new place.

It's actually pretty cute, not as big as our old house - but at least we didn't have to move into an apartment. I'm just relieved that we were able to make everything work and the move was as painless as possible. I'm a little sad to say goodbye to our old house - but I really do like this place, and it will be home soon enough.

In other words - I have two finals tomorrow and one on Thursday. Wish me luck studying today!
